 Under  Threat

The Koonibba Test Rocket Range covers over 10,000 km's, which is home to an incredible diverse and fragile environment, including threaten species of both animals and plants. The legal instrument set up to insure our environment will continue to flourish and be there for future generations is the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999  (EPBC). The EPBC is legislated in federal parliament  to protect the animals and plants at the Yellabina Reserve and Yullumba Reserve. We believe this act is being broken by the company operating the Rocket launches as they have no ability to insure that the rocket boosters which fall back on the range, will crash land or float back. Nor is their substantial evidence to indicate that any 'returns' (when a rocket returns back to earth) do not pose a risk to the environment. There is also a great fire risk that is connected with rocket launches and returns.
